The Prominent Roles of Undergraduate Mentors in an Online Near-Peer Mentoring Model

This study exemplifies a STEM-based online near-peer mentoring approach, incorporating 56 students (high and middle school mentees) 16 secondary undergraduates (UG) mentors. The various constructive roles of UG mentors in motivating student mentees have been investigated by examining the relationship shared among them. qualitative quantitative analysis student’s daily feedback, mentors’ mentors-mentees transcripts has illustrated that consistent asynchronous appreciation, encouragement, support (academic technical) was responsible for success model. finding also demonstrated decline amount motivation requirement successive weeks courses, indicating attainment self-sufficiency. Furthermore, comparative revealed greater enhanced bonding between mentors, compared with high Therefore, unlike many studies depicting model’s success, our article is an aid understanding underlying process, contributing to success.
